This prefabricated Intermodal Steel Building Unit (ISBU) home emerged from a unique program by a fictitious owner.The owner is an eclectic couple planning to build the lakeside retreat they have dreamed about throughout their 26 year marriage. The husband is a tenured English professor at the local University, and his wife teaches a high school art class. They are lovers of the arts, nature, and entertaining guests. The economy has provided them a limited budget and hopes for design elements which are sustainable and durable.

This design placed 29th out of 400 in the FreeGreen Who’s Next 2.0 Competition. Operable walls, sustainable features, and prefabricated design components made this a great competitor for flexible, inexpensive homes.
